history
The WORLD SONG CUP was born..
from the vision of a Colombian music enthusiast, supported by a team with industry expertise, who recognized the need for a global platform to celebrate the diversity of musical genres and languages. Frustrated by the lack of opportunities for emerging artists in mainstream competitions, he envisioned a contest where talent, passion, and audience engagement would take center stage.
The World Song Cup aims to be more than just a competition; it is a celebration of music, culture, and the power of artistic expression. We believe that music has the ability to connect people from all corners of the globe, breaking down barriers and fostering a sense of unity and understanding.
Our goal is to provide a platform for artists to showcase their unique voices and stories while engaging audiences in an interactive and entertaining experience.
CONTEST STRUCTURE
PHASES
1 - National Selection
Up to 151 countries will be selected to participate in the competition. The selection process will prioritize countries with a rich musical heritage and a strong pool of available talent. In cases where multiple countries meet these criteria, a random draw will determine the final participants. Some countries will be guaranteed participation each year.
2 - National Elimination
The competition organizers will utilize their databases, available information, and artist registrations to select between 5 to 12 artists per participating country. These artists will compete in national elimination rounds to determine one representative artist and song per country.
3 - Continental Elimination
The national winners will then compete in continental elimination rounds. This phase will determine which countries will represent their respective continents in the grand final.
4 - Grand Final
A total of 46 countries will compete in the grand final, showcasing their best artist and song. The audience and an expert jury will determine the winner, crowning the new WORLD SONG CUP champion.
VOTING SYSTEM
1 - Audience Voting
- “Each registered user on the voting platform will have one vote.”
- “Users can vote for one or multiple songs/artists, assigning scores from 10 (highest) to 1 (lowest) as follows: 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, and 1.”
- “The competition organizers will conduct thorough counts and analyses to determine the qualifiers and the ultimate winner.
2 - Jury Voting (If applicable)
- Currently, a jury vote is not applicable at the moment.
- “A panel of music industry experts will also cast their votes, providing professional evaluation of the artists’ performances.”
- “The jury’s votes will be combined with the audience votes to determine the final results.”
3 - Results and Transparency
- “The voting results will be audited and verified to ensure fairness and accuracy.”
- “The winner will be announced a few days after the conclusion of the final voting period and published on the official WORLD SONG CUP website.”
